On this page you’ll find details about the basics. We’ll start with the new features that you’ll find and then continue with creating the first model and power it with Evara. By the end you’ll know how to build a basic model and you’ll see how to relate assumptions and uncertainties to your actuals and you’ll be able to “adjust/reconcile” your model with actuals/data.

<aside> ⚠️ Before you start using Scenarios with your existing models and/or start building your own models, we highly recommend looking at some of our Tutorials first.

Basic functionality

Dive into the essentials of the Scenarios’ functionality:

The Basics

Exploring “What Ifs”

Understand how to simulate different scenarios also known as “What If” scenarios or Monte Carlo simulations. As you’ll see, while powerful, “What If” exploration is really only useful for so long. As soon as we consider (new) data, “What If” becomes more or less useless:

“What Ifs”

Using data (actuals)

Now we take things to the next level as the behavior of your model fundamentally changes as we feed it with data. This is the missing, and most complicated, piece that completes the circle between modelling, “What Ifs,” and finally taking advantage of having actuals/data—luckily we take care the complex mathematics!
